The C Room

A space designed to support connection, participation, and therapeutic engagement.

At The C Practice, we believe that environments matter. The spaces children, young people, and families enter can influence how safe, comfortable, and able to engage they feel.

Set within a quiet garden setting, The C Room offers a calm, welcoming alternative to more traditional clinical environments. The space has been intentionally designed to feel warm, comfortable, and relational, supporting children, young people, and families to settle and engage at their own pace.

Rather than a highly medicalised setting, The C Room reflects the wider ethos of The C Practice: compassionate, specialist-level occupational therapy grounded in connection, collaboration, and understanding the contexts in which everyday life takes place.

The “C” reflects the values that shape both our practice and the environment itself:

  • Compassion
  • Connection
  • Co-regulation
  • Curiosity
  • Capacity
  • Collaboration

Children and young people do not need to “perform” in The C Room. Sessions are paced thoughtfully and flexibly, allowing space for conversation, play, movement, creativity, reflection, and therapeutic engagement in ways that feel meaningful and manageable.

Our occupational therapy approach focuses on supporting participation across everyday life, including:

  • home
  • school
  • emotional wellbeing
  • independence
  • confidence
  • relationships
  • engagement in meaningful activities

The environment has been intentionally designed to feel calm, adaptable, and supportive, with attention given to comfort, pacing, emotional safety, and creating a sense of ease and welcome.

While The C Room provides a supportive therapeutic environment, meaningful participation happens across everyday contexts. Depending on need, support may also include home-based work, school collaboration, online consultation, and parent partnership.

The C Room has been created as a space where children, young people, parents, and professionals can feel safe, supported, and understood.
